Thread takeover... customer has a blown engine on a FJ80 and my dads offered to buy it off of him. We’re thinking 2UZ swap. On a scale of Cool to Epic, where does that rank?

You asking advice or just letting me know the coolness? I heard Slee had trouble with his uz swaps, something about custom oil pan. anyway, I would love an 80 with a uz. I was just telling my wife that would make the 80 perfect.

Hmmm... I’ll have to get with Slee. What’s the best way to reach him? I wonder if the 4Runner Oil Pan would work.

The trouble is the front diff location, in the 100/gx its behind the engine, in the fzj80 its mostly up front. You could probably do it without too much trouble with enough lift of course.

LS would be easer but Toyota shop haha. If we can successfully get this one done, it might inspire my dad to do it on our FJ40 too

well I’ll save you the trouble and tell you to look for pre-vvti motors that mate with the A343F directly. Trying to retro the A750F doesn’t seem to be possible without a lot more work.
